Regionally, Lazada is one of Southeast Asia's three big platform ecosystems, with genuine strongholds in Singapore and Malaysia and a differentiated position in mall-brand (LazMall) and electronics retail. In Indonesia's consumer categories, however, Magpie IQ's continuous tracking through June 2026 tells a much more compressed story.
The Indonesia numbers
Across the consumer categories Magpie tracks continuously in Indonesia, Lazada transacted roughly $8.1M per month in June 2026, down about 63% from ~$22M a year earlier. The step-down is concentrated in early 2026: from ~$19M in December 2025 to under $9M by January 2026, and it has not recovered since.
In beauty & personal care — Indonesia's bellwether ecommerce category — Lazada held roughly 1.5% of tracked GMV in Q2 2026, against Shopee's ~64% and TikTok Shop's ~34%. Even legacy platforms in transition compete for the remainder: the entire non-Shopee, non-TikTok slice of tracked beauty is now under 2%.
Why the headline ASEAN numbers mislead for Indonesia
Regional market-share figures for Lazada blend markets where it is structurally strong (Singapore, Malaysia) with Indonesia, where the two-engine dynamic — Shopee's search-led scale plus TikTok Shop's discovery-led growth — has squeezed third platforms hardest. A brand allocating Indonesian ecommerce investment off a regional average will systematically over-weight Lazada and under-weight the TikTok side of the market.
What this means for brands
For most FMCG and beauty brands, the tracked data supports treating Lazada Indonesia as a maintenance channel — presence, price hygiene, LazMall brand protection — while the share battle is fought on the two engines. The exception is category-specific: where Lazada's electronics and mall-brand franchises give it disproportionate relevance, the calculus differs, and that is a category-level question the platform-wide number cannot answer.
About the data
Figures are from Magpie IQ's continuous SKU-level tracking of Indonesian ecommerce (Shopee, Shop | Tokopedia / TikTok Shop, legacy Tokopedia, Lazada, Blibli), window May 2025 – June 2026. Shares are of GMV within Magpie's tracked universe of consumer categories — deepest in beauty & personal care, F&B, mom & baby, groceries, pet, household and health — not of total national ecommerce GMV. “TikTok Shop” refers to the merged Shop | Tokopedia entity; “Tokopedia” alone refers to legacy marketplace listings. Absolute GMV values are panel-tracked and best read as levels and trends, not as census totals.
