ScraperAPI or Magpie for ecommerce data?

ScraperAPI handles proxies and browsers so you can fetch almost any page, with ready-made endpoints for large US retailers. Magpie is built for Southeast Asian marketplaces, with monthly sales data as well as live scraping.

Two different tools, in two paragraphs.

Magpie

A data API for ecommerce marketplaces. The Data API serves monthly GMV, units sold, prices and market share across Shopee, Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, Lazada and Blibli. The Scraping API returns live product pages, listings and search results as structured JSON, including Amazon in ten countries.

ScraperAPI

A scraping API that handles proxies, browsers and CAPTCHAs for any URL you send it. It offers structured data endpoints for sites such as Amazon and Walmart, a DataPipeline for scheduled jobs, and an async service for large volumes. Its ecommerce page names Amazon, Walmart, Google Shopping and eBay.

Questions people ask.

Can ScraperAPI scrape Shopee?

ScraperAPI's general API accepts any URL. When we checked on 17 Sep 2026, its ecommerce page did not list dedicated Shopee, Tokopedia or Lazada endpoints, so you would parse the pages yourself. Magpie returns those marketplaces as structured JSON.

Does Magpie work on websites other than marketplaces?

No. Magpie covers Shopee, Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, Lazada, Blibli and Amazon. For general websites, a general scraping API like ScraperAPI is the better fit.

How is Magpie billed?

With prepaid credits from one balance shared by the Data API, the Scraping API and the MCP connector. You are charged only for rows or items actually returned, and export estimates are free.

Does Magpie need a subscription?

No. You top up credits when you need them. Larger top-ups cost less per credit. See the rate card on data.magpieiq.com.
